Welcome to my studio website, Becca’s Green Craft Studio where you will see artwork created by R. Shuler (aka: Becca). It all began many years ago when someone asked me to teach during a children’s art camp in Blue Ridge, Georgia. As it turns out, I enjoy the entire creative process, from planning a lesson to teach a class to following through and creating my own work on commission or for the sheer process of creating artwork. The best way to describe what I enjoy is Creative Engineering because I enjoy not only experimenting and trying new techniques but also putting together a program to teach others the process.
Routinely, I work on building a rapport with those interested in learning how to be a better artist. Currently, I use the Gilmer Art Center as my student center–they are amazing people to work with. My regular Acrylics 101 students meet with me twice a month to paint together, studying the master’s or working on a current project. We practice our skills to improve and become confident artists. I enjoy teaching others what I know. Browse my events on the ArtwBecca Facebook page for my art business: https://www.facebook.com/events/calendar
Because I am always painting something new for my teaching process, I have quite a few paintings for sale. Soon those will be on a commerce site here. For now, I do art shows at the Gilmer Art Gallery and local festival showings.
The most recent show was during the Apple Arts Festival in Ellijay, Georgia during two weekends in October (10/12-13/24 & 10/19-20/24). The Gilmer Arts Center hosted a tent for several member artists to show and sell their work. It was two beautiful weekends weatherwise and was very well attended. We were located on the main drag in historic downtown Ellijay behind the Welcome Center off the round-about. It was a remarkably successful show for us all in that we had good sales and made several new contacts during both weekends. Below are a few photos taken during the second weekend.
I was invited to show locally during the Jasper Artwalk in Pickens County Georgia on Friday, September 13, 5-9pm. The local business I was paired with is: The Hive & Vine Wine Bar located at 57-B Main Street, Jasper, Ga. 30143. It looks like I’ll be able to fit quite a few large pieces and a plethora of smalls–I have fourteen bird paintings in that small category (6″x6″; 8″x8″; 12″x12″) ranging in price: $32-$180.
Below is a photo collage of the pieces I’m hoping to fit into the show–24″x24″ being the largest piece.
